Could you imagine how much better the Master System could have done in North America against the NES if it had the FM sound chip here?

I'd never heard of it until I found the SMS Power fan site about 20 years ago, and I'm old enough to remember the 8-bit era.

The first RPG series I really got into.

Ironically this was the last one I played through as I didn't own a Master System until the mid '00s. Played through it on GBA before that (not a great version but still).

I only had a 2-3 year window to play Master System when it was still in print. Tho I was introduced to some amazing games like Zillion, Wonder Boy III: Dragon's Trap, and others, I completely missed Phantasy Star.

I never played this game as a kid but I had friends that did and I used to watch them play it all the time. I played it for the first time as an adult a few years ago. One of my favorite games in the whole world.
