"Use every tool. Join the resistance. Take to the streets. We're going to have to be in the streets of DC to stop this." - my senator @jeff-merkley.bsky.social at his town hall in Oregon City tonight. I have said it since Nov 6: Congress has no plan to save us, y'all. We must save ourselves.

That said, I think Sanders is on the right track of going out to Republicans.
If there are already Democratic senators for a state (like Jon Ossoff), they can have town halls in Republican districts for that state. In person would be best, but virtual works.
Listening is actually powerful. It would let potential candidates start getting to know people.
But... there were a number of state wide races where the differences came down to a few %. Small shifts in red areas matter.
=> less threat for hesitant Republicans.
The more people are anti-Musk, that helps Republicans get a spine, because Musk's primary threats are reduced.
* special House elections (2 Florida; 1 NY)
* boycott Musk/Tesla (reduce his wealth)
* more finding out (especially Republican districts)
* town halls (viral videos -> weight of negative ads)
* special judge election (WI)
Democrats in Congress can and should slow things down as much as possible.
I don't know how much in resources the DNC has, but they are probably the ones I'm looking at to step up in improving communication between Congress+States+non-profit efforts.

Still, every iota of gumming up the works worthwhile. And just a little fun.
