Michigan here. She went to seek help for a state of emergency bc of an ice storm that’s been compared to a cat 5 hurricane at the end of March. There are people still without power. We also have the Great Lakes that are under threat as funding has been cut for invasive species and pollution.

We have the most Great Lakes shoreline. Kind of big when she has almost 21% of the world’s fresh water on her shoulders. Also, the auto industry is being hit bc of tariffs. We seem to get hit hard bc of it - just like 2008 - hit first and one of the hardest. So I don’t like it, but there are nuances

She didn’t go to appease. We have a state of emergency up north. 63,000 people lost power March 31 and a good majority still don’t. It’s still winter up there, the Mackinaw bridge was closed so no supplies coming in and gas stations were not able to get fuel. Pipes freeze.National guard called in.
