Previous to the FDA, folks would put chalk and plaster of Paris in milk to make it appear white. They could also add formaldehyde to cover the smell and taste of spoiled milk.

I started baking my own. Loaves and flatbread for sandwiches. Biscuit bread for breakfast. I use healthy ingredients and it's way cheaper than buying bread. Artisan bread is not hard at all. #stockuponstaples

Biscuit bread is a basic drop biscuit recipe where you add extra buttermilk. Use double action baking powder. You want the dough to be wet but not runny. Drop by spoonfuls into a large pie or baking pan sprayed with oil or butter. Bake at 400 f until the tops are golden brown. Easy peasy. #biscuits

There is a guy on YT under The Outdoor Boys. He takes dry bread ingredients & places them in a ziplock bag. Once he makes camp, he adds water & squishes it all around in the bag until mixed. Lays the bag by the fire so it rises, then fries dough in oil & drizzles honey and butter. Mmmmm #freshbread
