[Ongoing thread] The (*space) sci-fi recommendations thread
I'm going to gather here all the stories I love, all the ones I recommend above all to those who are curious.
It's just my personal opinion, of course, and there are bound to be things you'll like or dislike. 🖖

Et je continue à défendre Starfield, très bonne période pour le Space-opera jv !
Hi Bob! I have to start with this AppleTV+ show because I've already managed to convince thousands of people to watch it. ✊😂
A blend of alternative space conquest, utopia, and intense drama, For All Mankind offers us such a beautiful “what if?”
Season 5 in 2025.
Beltalowda! A formidable geopolitical epic set in the solar system, The Expanse is the benchmark space sci-fi show of the last decade.
There is an ending, but it's open enough to one day continue and adapt the last three novels (all nine books are also recommended).
So Say We All! The benchmark for the previous decade. A realistic approach to a desperate situation, with a fascinating mythology and plenty of twists and turns. And many characters I still miss.
It's amazing what they've managed to do with so little.
A magnificent animated show unfairly treated by streaming services.
This series follows a handful of crash survivors on an alien planet as exotic as it is dangerous. It's beautiful, it's poetic, it's a nightmare. It remains one of the decade's finest surprises.
It's inevitably the first film I've mentioned, even if it's not for everyone. Slow and contemplative, 2001 is nonetheless a treat for those who prefer to find their own answers.
It's such a beauty. Even decades after its release, this film was a revelation for me.
I love this sequel because it approaches the subject in a very different way from the first film - as all good sequels do.
Here, the story is much more accessible, and even provides answers to some of the questions raised in the original movie.
