unfortunately, Casey was at work when evacuation orders were issued, and despite driving for hours through traffic desperately trying to get back home to where his dogs were trapped, he wasn't allowed to return ❤️🩹
Roads into an evacuation zone are closed and hundred mile an hour winds and your neighborhood is on fire… if you’re at off at work when that happens there’s nothing that you can do.
So why are you continuing to pile on and assume the owner was apathetic? And under these circumstances too.
I'm glad you're so perfect and nothing tragic has or ever will befall you because you think of every variable. No one you know will ever die and therefore you can rest well knowing that you have saved ever person, animal, and thing you have ever loved.
Do you understand that he was at work when the fire broke out and he was unable to get to his house because the roads were blocked? I understand the idea of a job is probably a foreign concept to you as you type from your parents’ basement, but try to follow us.
He didn't just leave them. The fires had not begun. Fires started Tuesday around 10:30am I believe so there was no threat. He went to work like it was a regular day. He tried to get back to them. Apparently was able to get one of two. I don't know the full story but not everyone just left.
They won't allow you to go back in these situations though. The national guard/police guard the evacuation zones. So if you get evacuated while at work they're gonna tell you that you can't return to your house. Its sad but there's not much you can do
Better than my next door neighbor who evacuated to SFO and deliberately left behind her 2 special needs cats and asked neighbors to feed them while she was gone and bc they are difficult to contain in cat carriers instructed us to “just open the doors and windows for them.”
He had gone to work that morning before the fires had started/spread to his neighborhood. He got the text to evacuate while he was at work, rushed back home for his dogs, but the officials wouldn't let him back in.
I'm sorry, but an army couldnt stop me from getting to my dogs. you would literally have to kill me to stop me. but I also wouldn't put my dogs in that position either.

Where I live when we had big fires that required evacuations last year, the cops threatened to charge people who tried to get past barricades.
RCMP trust has been lost in the rural community out here. Not that we love cops.
