Don't let anybody tell you that the UK is too cold / warm for heat pumps! They work in a wide range of climates.

I live on a small island in Eastern Canada. Any household with annual earnings less than $129,000 (CAD) gets a free heat pump, installed. It’s hard to find a house without one.
