TIL: Exuberant ctags, which I used for a long time on MacOS via Homebrew, is superceded by "Universal ctags". That comes with a whole new set of capabilities and built-in support for lots of popular file types and formats. https://buff.ly/3Ed37Bs I use ctags for doc source files.
