Some of y'all are talking to me like... you've never read my work which may well be the case, but you don't need to condescend as if you are Nodstrodamus. You can know our systems are weak and still be appalled at the country being dismantled in a matter of weeks.

We build things in dumb places (e.g. coasts, forests, desert). All human settlement is precarious and political systems too.
Benefits some for a time, fewer over time.
We get shocked when the inevitable happens.
