If you’re going to adapt some of the most beloved literature in recent history, please at least put in minimal effort. This film is one of the most disappointing that I’ve seen in a long time.

And I do think it needs to be a long mini-series, which would play to the strengths from the novel... the interesting townsfolk.
I think you’re right! A limited series is the only way you could dig into the full slate of interesting characters and stories in the lot!
