the other day i painted my nails and when i showed my partner i was expecting a compliment so i had the "thanks!" queued up. she did not give me a compliment
You know it’s bad when you give up and recognize you will never stop doing this, and it’s better to devise strategies to acknowledge the awkwardness if necessary and quickly move on when you inevitably keep saying things like this several times a day.
I'm even polite to the lamp posts/ mirrors in shops I walk into ( 'sorry' is out of my mouth before I realise the person is me or the post isn't a person). Why do I walk into them ?. Multifactorial reasons 😄 🤣 😂
If you’ve met 1 person with autism you’ve met 1 person with autism. That said, in my experience, autistic people are incredibly empathetic. If my daughter is near a crying child she will try to comfort them or cry herself or both. When I broke my hand 2 of my autistic employees started crying.

I’ say ‘I like to help people as it helps the world go round.’ NTs will assume I only have a logical, unfeeling view of the world.
In reality, I mean that a person needing help is suffering and wants to keep moving forward, I help make that happen.
