Yes, this is true, but you can add a feature to show or hide it
and If you do this, you will give a sense of control over your account, and this will make people love your application more
But you /could/ have chosen not to include this feature, rather than making it easier for people to spy on each other and using that as a selling point ('👀'). Many users won't realize their likes are viewable, and although that's ultimately a problem with BlueSky there's no reason to make it worse.
I feel that giving people a false sense of privacy is worse though. There’s been tools to peep in on likes since before graysky added it, and if people think that’s why their likes are private then that could lead to much worse outcomes. Better that people know what they’re signing up for imo
(Admittedly using it as a sales point is a holdover from when @bsky.app didn’t show likes at all, and graysky was the only way to see your own likes too)
Don't let these people discourage you. Anyone with even just a tiny bit of Internet experience knows that security by obscurity equals no security. Grats on the launch!
I can see what you're saying; I guess I just feel like the solution to that is to push for BlueSky to be more transparent, rather than to create more tools for viewing other people's likes.
The whole point behind a Like is for you to show people you like or approve a post. It's been this way since the dawn of time. People shouldn't assume anything they do online is private.

The only thing that's private is your mutes.
