1. pokemon is just bigger than marvel.
2. Pocket is way more casual friendly. Even my fiancé who never played a card game plays it.
3. Many even just "play" it for collecting and don't do any pvp matches.
But cracking random card packs under the Pokemon IP is always going to be a money printer 😎 no surprises here
What if you're just not the target audience?
For me personally it always comes back to game length & it always being "your turn" in Snap.
Same thing happened with MtG unfortunately - just not enough time in the day to play.
Excited to watch Pokemon Pocket grow 📈 😁
Snap has changed a lot since beta too, it's now an RNG fiesta and about RNG management when it used to be more about placement and card choices
Snappers are dismissive for some reason which is frustrating
But, when snap launched it was a combination of star realms and Arkham horror locations that digitally represented some of my favourite real life board/card games.
It got too random.
I'll take coin flips with a game that feels like it has more agency
120 million in so short period seems amazing
But then we've known each other for a long time and we are similar 😁
The response on twitter got me really worked up, people there act entirely different, it's the tone I've decided as they are not saying anything different to people here they also make it weird and personal
A break genuinely casual bins snap unless you ££££
20 cards is very limiting when there are so many different types of cards (and really it is 10 cards since we usually have 2X of each card in a deck).
Energy cheats destroy whatever depth the game may have.
I like the pack opening aspect a lot but just can’t enjoy the gameplay. But that’s not that wild. Mby with a few more expansions 🤷♀️ I am happy for everyone who enjoy it.
Ofc my criticism of it is personal. I think it’s boring. I expect the decisions to become more interesting, but I am doubtful it will ever be enough to balance how slow it is.
I hope to see that turn around!
I also do acknowledge its set 1, but basically the skill your expressing isn't the same one as Snap, it's the resource management and forward planning which are rewarded more / emphasized
