I truly believe that Kamala would have won if not for aggressive voter suppression, racist gerrymandering, and legitimate votes rejected. In a purely fair election, the prosecutor would be POTUS, the criminal would be facing prison time.

But plain inexcusible apathy is what truly prevailed.
Our elections are fatally tainted by decades of racist policy--from gerrymandering to voter suppression. Truly democratic elections have enough room for apathy not to negatively tilt the outcome.
That assertion amounts to voter suppression itself.
The system is warped, but still completely functional.
People chose not to show up, full stop. Easily could have overwhelmed any interference. But nope, we "other priorities".
But for democracy to survive, the system itself needs to be fair.
