Brianna Wu is an excellent example of why I find terms like progressive and leftist (even though I use them) sort of functionally useless- like they don’t tie anyone to actual politics- they just shift with individual feelings

I figured out progressive had been co-opted when all those groups popped up like Our Revolution and the Hillary one. But lots of liberals like to use that label, but they're really centrists or conservatives and just don't want to admit it.

My poli-sci daughter told me my wanting decentralized communities focused on mutual aid makes me definitionally an anarchist. I'm like, "Well, if the shoe fits, I guess. #Landback." 😆
Very damn true... at this point, 'leftism' it treated as anything left of the far-right. Even centrists as treated as leftist.
Moderates and status quo folk are treated as 'progressive'.
It has come to the point that the terms are treated as anything that isn't outright proud and loud Nazism.
