When I worked in the music industry and was obsessed with discovering new bands and seeing my favorites, I went to shows like every other night. It was research, it was obsession. Ain't no way I'd have held myself back based on plebs who didn't care as much as I did lol.

When I was a teenager I used to go to concerts all summer long on my own, no matter which band was playing. I need to book more concerts this year as I used to love going to them!

Went to vegas last year to see U2, have local theatre subscriptions, go to broadway and movies solo. if i wait for others to have time, interest, money I won’t go. same with travel - if folks want to join great but otherwise enjoying my life and interests

Same. I wish my local cinema would have more seats for solo people, as most of their seating is composed of double couches. If you want a couch, you need to book two tickets. I went to see Love Actually on my own back in December and had a good cry in my solo armchair haha.

Yep. And when it comes to concerts, I actually prefer it, as nobody knows me there and nobody can judge my dancing and singing "skills" 😅

I have done this. And I have found tremendous opportunities for good seats. I scored a front row centre aisle seat to Penn and Teller once.

I also watched the Lion King from the 8th row for peanuts, just because I was on my own and booked a last minute ticket the night before. The people next to me paid over £100 for the same seats.

I’ve been going to the ballet/opera/cinema alone since I was 18. If friends didn’t want to go I’d happily go alone.
When I started working away from home at 23 I started eating out alone and still do, often. Just last week in London too.
I’m married but I even holiday alone

I have no issues traveling on my own, going to restaurants on my own, or doing things on my own. I find it strange that some people do... it's like denying yourself doing things you enjoy because of others, which seems pretty wrong.

I have no issue doing stuff like that alone! Quite often (at concerts, at least) you end up meeting people anyway.
