Watching this made me appreciate a lot of modern scifi that did not appeal to me much before. It takes all the aesthetics I love from Italian horror and does it in space.

I'd been avoiding watching Possession for a long time bc it breaks my one horror movie rule (no demonic possession it freaks me out too much) and unfortunately it did freak me out too much but I'm glad I watched it anyway! Really insanely tense movie. No fun at all. Completely psycho. I loved it.

Nightbreed (1990)
I only watched this because I wanted to watch all of the Cronenberg acting moments and I'm so glad that took me here. This movie (literally) explodes with ideas. The story is not the point so much as the world is. Beautiful queer anti-cop watching should you be so inclined.

Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion (1970) - I watched this to better understand the climate that gave us Giallo movies not expecting to dig it, but I loved it. I think about the end of this movie all the time. Really funny and bleak and funny again.
