The language I’ve highlighted below makes me question how common is it for these certificates to arrive late? But also the archivists can take extreme measures to retrieve them? What are the odds that nearly 50% of the certificates wouldn’t be filed? I find it very odd, and I’m holding onto hope! ☺️

One more link, here is a timeline that describes how the process works. The certificates should be sent to the archives for entry into the record by December 25. The archivist then hands over the certificates when the election is certified on January 6th. https://www.archives.gov/electoral-college/key-dates
