Nothing says "fix the desert" like intentionally planting eucalyptus and other non desert faring plants, resulting in an increased need to drain local aquifers in order to maintain them at the expense of local villages and crop land

They planted Aleppo trees. And you keep re-wording it into something bad. “Draining local aquifers” was the SWAMPS. It did not come at expense of local villages and crop because the land they purchased was THEIRS and BARREN.
Do you just regurgitate all the propaganda they feed to school kids or something? They largely plant Eucalyptus and Pine trees, neither of which belong there in any healthy capacity, for the trees or the environment.
It was a mistake on my part, they did plant Eucalyptus trees, but the objective remains the same. They planted a BUNCH of different trees in order to help develop the desert. And it worked, you can see it today.
Yes, some were not fitting and likely altered the eco-system which was already lacking.
They planted unsafe, non native trees to usurp the local climate and to bury their crimes. It's not nature conservation when you are damaging the environment! You can't just plant whatever shit you want to and call it saving the desert!!! That's colonialism!
