But they didn’t wait long enough for the children of U.S. WWII Vets to die. We remember their stories. We remember the burden and memories of war our fathers carried for the rest of their lives. For us, Hitler and the Nazis were real. For us, Hitler and the Nazis were pure Evil.
We, the children of WWII Vets, carry the burden of their knowledge, too. We remember and will never forget. This is why we will never forgive the takeover of our country by Trump/MAGA and all those that were complicit. For us it is both Sedition and Treason. It is sheer Evil. This cannot stand.
They were their fathers, brothers, uncles, grandfathers, and great grandfathers who fought for them. Their lack of knowledge, respect and dignity shows as they choose to put the enemy into office. 💔
Both of my parents fought in WW2. Even though we were Christians, my mother insisted we had close relationships with people of all faiths, essentially Jewish folks. For this I am forever grateful
Sao Paulo -- I was caught off guard and unexpectedly moved earlier Saturday by the mausoleum for Brazilian servicemembers lost in WWII. I was doubly sad realizing that they gave their lives for a cause now being upended by world leaders.
