The majority of Americans do not respond to the argument that democracy is at risk. We have to somehow link democracy to the economy. I agree with you that it's about democracy but I don't think that resonates with most Americans. Sad to say but I think true. - ThreadSky

No, because they never really cared about that. They believed lies that it was because of the "others". Hence the cruelty crusade. They want women to suffer, they want blacks to suffer, latinos, gays, trans, liberals in general. For them, misery really does love company.

I think getting fired, prices going up, and industries getting harmed are doing some of the work. I agree that the idea of “democracy” is lost on them. These are people who don’t even find voting or paying attention to politics all that important.

Yeah I think the damage that FOX news has done to democracy is incalculable. They even paid for their deliberate lies about Dominion and yet are STILL able to feed MAGA their BS. I believe the conservative media needs to pay a price. I don’t know how but obviously $750 million is not enough.
