Recently, one of our clients had to ask game localization agency LocalizeDirect to remove several of their games from their online portfolio, as they had not in fact worked on those games. ๐งตโฌ๏ธ

We spotted this because ๐ฌ๐ had done the localization, not them. Turns out our client had sent LD a couple of marketing tasks related to those games while we were unavailable, that's it, yet they displayed the games on their portfolio as if they had localized them.
This is already a dodgy & misleading move to begin with, but it's particularly egregious considering LocalizeDirect is notorious for not wanting translators to be credited.
Not only do they not want to recognize their individual translators work, but they are willing to stretch & falsely represent their own contributions, essentially ๐จ๐ฉ๐๐๐ก๐๐ฃ๐ credit.
We are a small studio without much recourse in cases where large companies try to mess with us, so we're happy to have clients willing to stand with us, which we believe is a testament to the spirit we've been trying to cultivate ๐ค
