It is just unimaginable cruelty pure and simple. There can be no justification for it whatsoever. Preventing women training women to be midwives to women in one of the most dangerous medical situations if you are unassisted — no words.

Wondering if they could still get together and learn while doing “mundane tasks” like cooking, sewing , and cleaning. Just so it doesn’t become a lost art. I’m a former nurse and seems like the men are idiots because then who’s going to take care of them when they’re sick?

This is truly heartbreaking. As someone who works with postpartum women in the home in the US and I see how horrific it is for women here, I can not imagine what these women must be going through.
