Like okay the patriarchy wields sex against women in many ways....but is the answer for that really all women need to engage with a very specific form of sex that "takes back the power" or "doesn't appeal to the male gaze/patriarchy"?????
Call me a hedonist but I think maybe we should works towards a society where sex isn't an instrument of power and is just a fun thing that we humans can experience and share
I like being choked and slapped and having my hair pulled, I also like doing those things to others
None of this makes more or less of a feminist because gleefully consensual sex between adults has no inherent politics to it, it's all just what collective society has projected
so many people have misinterpreted the male-gaze and oppressive sexual roles to mean that Submission is always bad and "sets women's rights back decades", and ergo if you enjoy submissive roleplay, then you are being a bad feminist
Wish we lived in a world where we could focus on if the album cover is a good/interesting use of kink/sexual imagery, instead of if it’s “appropriate” or “good for women”.
How are we still having these convos after 50 Shades of Gray made milquetoast kink aesthetics mainstream a decade ago?
Yeah and if I'm critiquing it on its use of kink, it's like....the tamest portrayl and frankly I'm offended that the guy is not grabbing her hair closer to the scalp (that's where the money spot is uwu)
It doesn't.
Feminism is the idea that women (incl trans women) get to decide for themselves who they are & what gender roles they choose *completely aside from all the limiters society place upon them*. That includes gender roles forced upon them by any gender of person, including other feminists.
Indeed. As a man, I may not be the best person to talk about it but I consider myself a feminist but the point of empowering woman choices is to let her make it. Even if society push into one direction the point is to remove the push not merely change the direction.
I don't understand how saying to a woman you should like/do that because I decide it would be better can be considered good even in the name of feminism.
To me it look like replacing a limited pool of acceptable choices by another.

if a woman "tops", then she's the man in that dynamic, and being "the man" is good. No one wants to be "the girl".

That dude’s grip looks reluctant, and makes it feel like people on the shoot aren’t even familiar with light kink stuff.
Who knows? Maybe that’s intentional and relevant, but rn it just seems like a lot of fuss over the tamest shit.
