I have been a medical insurance biller for hospitals and private practices for 30 years. Medicare advantage plans are ripping you off. They are supposed to follow Medicare guidelines, but they deny claims that traditional Mediclcare pays for. Now I am telling I am patients to go back to Medicare

I respectfully disagree. I put my dad on UHC Medicare advantage in 2022, and he had a massive stroke that year. EVERYTHING was covered + additional benes Medicare didn’t have. UHC was the best plan he ever had - after horrible kaiser for 15 years prior. I know as I managed it all for them.

My concern is what you had in 2022 may not look the same in 2025. We've had a BCBS med adv prog forever & over the past 6 months & some providers/facilities have not been able to come to an agreement w/BCBS so those that provided medical care are now "out of network" & care looks very different.

Agreed. Another issue to add is for instance we live in a rural area so the choices for healthcare are pretty scary. So we drive into the city and see exactly who we want and Medicare pays their portion then our supplemental covers the rest. No gate keepers, we choose who we go to. Choice is key.

Hell no, I had UHC from my employer until I retired...they paid for VERY LITTLE even after physician orders for visits/procedures/tests.
He gives me back to them, and then probably increasing my already ridiculous premium, is ENOUGH!

Here's my 80 year old perspective, Medicare Advantage is seductive but, think which will serve me best at the back end, when coats are highest. Getting free vision exams, & dental is peanuts, think heart attack, broken hip, arthritis, cancer. That when you don't want approvals not denials.
