Can states legally stop sending the feds money? Then use that money to cover medicaid programs in their state? Probably not, since the republicans would cry foul and send the military in to remove the state governments and install their own..... Sounding like russia more every day.

Tennessee (and others red states) sued for permission to allocate Medicaid block grants for "other purposes" & won.
TN has refused to use Medicaid funds for actual Medicare for yrs & is sitting on a couple billion $s while rural hospitals close & Tn citizens die.

State budgets will have to be restructured, taxes raised, and eligibility changed. Facilities will close, especially in rural areas, people will die. This administration doesn't care about the deaths, but most elected officials receive HC PAC donations & have investments, so it will hit them too.

It also pays for CHIP(insurance for children), WIC for nutritional support. Hospitals would be greatly affected because there are many uninsured/under insured who use ER for primary care. It’s not right or just

I worked for a managed care network as a social worker embedded in a busy medical clinic. Medicaid is a big payor with not much reimbursement to the clinic. People really have no concept of how medicine is financed in the US
