so, genuine question: i'm very much out of the loop, but is there a reason that SubscribeStar is more favored than Patreon? i've noticed that some NSFW artists have switched over to Substar for a while now

Like others have stated before, at some point Patreon changed their TOS where you somehow had to show that the people having sex in the image you uploaded were/are consenting. Due to this and other reasons, a bunch of artists ik of were nuked off the site for almost no reason. (From what ik anyway)
Patreon is cracking down harder and harder on NSFW content to the point its absolutely ridiculous. Even if you drew 2 characters having consensual sex, and its VERY clearly stated that its consensual, if a mod just decides it don't "look" consensual your account is now at risk of being banned
I think another REALLY stupid one was they banned any fictional feederism fetish stuff because "it promotes an unhealthy life style that could lead to harm" 🙄
and my gut feeling about all of it is that debit/credit card companies reallllly dont like having their stuff next to anything that could "ruin their brand" and so on. (reasons why paypal in the past has done similar things to artists.)
Oh absolutely, its the endless cycle of platforms using sex workers/NSFW artists to launch their site into mainstream popularity, and the SECOND they deem themselves profitable they ban the ones who built them from the ground up so they can look better for investors/advertisers. Its a scum bag move
and every time every single person in top brass in those positions, are people who for sure would if not already have used services with adult content.
pretty out of the loop myself, but it seems like people believe patreon is more hostile to nsfw artists than substar. I know they have more rules on what sort of nsfw content is allowed, and I've seen a fair amount of nsfw artists get kicked off the platform, even if they were following the rules
