kind of fun to have an "inside the mind of a sociopath" type book where the guy isn't a cunning genius nor does he have a compelling backstory, he's a good actor but mostly just a person of average intelligence who doesn't mind killing people

my wife has read them all, and selected the west german 1977 ‘the american friend’ as our annual v-day anti-romantic movie watch last weekend. it’s based on ripley’s game and is *super different* from the well known movie/tv shows based on the books.
