Maybe you should become particular with the specifics since even if it isn’t related to “your tribe”, it’s very much a part of all of American history which is how and why we are all here today.

My guy, I'm gonna put this as simply as I can: from my point of view, what the colonizers for to the Natives was wrong, but also caused this holiday to exist, even if the holiday itself is based on inaccurate stories from centuries ago. Either way, the idea behind the holiday is good, at least.
I can’t argue that something like giving thanks and finding gratitude is a bad practice. But I think it’s definitely important to portray historical context and events as they were and not to sugar coat it. What happened was absolutely horrific and I can’t imagine why we pretend otherwise.
Because it's easier for people to pretend the world is a better place than it actually is, and in particular, Americans like to pretend their ancestors were good people. Why do you think Lost Causers still exist? It's the same shitty mentality.
