I’ve also never thrived in winter. That’s why this year (and hopefully every year coming) I have escaped the winter and flown to a tropical island where I will stay until spring.
Clearly! Pity that we hoomans built our society to run 24/7 with ever increasing speed, and not to honor natural cycles, both the outside world's and humanity's own.
I find it helps to get out into nature, even on cold days. I find something interesting every time, & the vocalizations and business of our winter birds keeps the forest alive here. Meadows offer the same opportunity. Days are now getting longer, which also improves my mood, so Happy Solstice!
I have spent my whole life struggling too.
Now I live in the Sahara desert for the winter. A bit extreme possibly but it works. I am back in the UK for Christmas and the dark, dreich weather almost feels a novelty...
Winter can be crippling for sure. I know what you mean about spending the whole day in bed too which is why im reaching out. If its because of the weather, bundle up and stay cold but if its because of depression, then i want you to know that you’re not alone. A lot of people feel that way,
especially now. Anytime you feel as if you need to vent or express your feelings, don’t hesitate to tell people, after all Christmas is not just the season of joy but loss too unfortunately. That also goes for people reading this. There is someone always out there willing to hear you and listen to
you. You have value and you mean something even if it doesn’t feel that way at this time. I was at this point a few times in my life but i fought through it and won big. I gained a hell of a life partner and a beautiful daughter this year but this will also be the 9th christmas without my dad and
2nd year without my father in law, two great men. Take this time to celebrate as a family even though you may have differences because one day for better or worse, it could all be gone.
You feel that way because you probably are. Hibernation isn’t going to sleep, it’s just not doing anything except eating and laying around, which a lot of peoples both primitive and recent did after stocking for the winter.
Same same, we are meant to thrive in the sun... that said, after 3-4 month under the clouds and white shroud, the happiness of heat and shine is unparalleled! Stay hard 😁
Another absolutely insane art piece- I love the shading and the rendering on the snow versus the absolute black on the raven. Always amazing seeing you pop up on my fyp! Keep it up!!!
If nothing else, I don't think we were meant to work *as much* as we currently do in this season. Capitalism uses the electric light to crack the whip, imho
You WERE meant to hibernate. It’s capitalism that makes us feel sky guilt for it but it’s perfectly normal to want to stay in bed or at home. It’s okay to rest and take it easy!
