It’s okay, I don’t mind questions! I had been a full time artist for 6 years before being hired by Metallica and I originally got the opportunity when another artist (Jen Bartel) got a job and couldn’t take it and recommended me. That job fell through but I took sketches to a merch company who-
Said I might be able to do tees and they forwarded the sketches to management who connected with the work. They really liked one of the designs and asked for a poster for the S&M2 show and then they just kept hiring me! I feel very fortunate because I’ve been a fan of the band since I was 14
Thanks Paul! Although what I choose to share online is heavily edited and things in my real life is a bit more complicated, I am overall very thankful for the opportunities I have and the support from folks like yourself that allow me to have my dream job!
Oh I am old/wise enough to understand your life isn’t all peaches and cream, but the highlights certainly are things I aspired to in my youth and never achieved. It’s nice to see it happen for someone else. I feel like I sleepwalked through my life sometimes.
