I'll give you that hypothetical, but I won't be jumping with enthusiasm over what looks like a choice that offers a slim chance to meet the lowest bar of just basic competence.
Oh, don't misunderstand. I fully support the critique and don’t think Connoly should be a ranking member. If anything, he should retire entirely and focus on his healing and family.
My only point is the language used when referring to someone in diagnosed with a potentially terminal disease.
My husband was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor in 2016. We told people he was dying. It wasn't a lie. It wasn't an insult. It was a fact. We weren't into sugarcoating a turd to make it seem less nasty.
Mostly because he got cancer while already in position rather than just before the selection process. Also he was out there doing shit. Who ever heard of this Connolly dude until now? Wtf has he done besides wait in the wings?
I have no idea why Connolly was chosen, but I dont agree with holding his cancer diagnosis against him without having any idea what sort of stage he's at with treatment and progression.
Touche. And I like Raskin too and would never make such comments about him. Can't pinpoint the difference, other than possibly just exposure. I have seen Raskin on the front lines for years while, but until this week I'd never even heard of Connelly.
