There is a place in TN, USA called Maggie Moos that made their ice cream on site. Sometimes the ratios would be wrong and they would sell it if it still tasted good. For a few days they had "Justin's Mistake" as a flavor and it sticks in my head to this day.

There's the lovely Dolce Amore in Vancouver, but because it's van, the only icecream is gelato. There's more smaller shops but Dolce is the only one that does wackier things like their seasonal winter Grinch Poop (mint, brownie, something?).

reporting in from europe (ireland), in my local area we have a handful of family-run icecream places (we don't exactly have icecream weather but we do get a lot of tourists)

we don't have anything as fun as tea-flavored icecreams but my personal fave out this way is honeycomb brittle icecream

Depending on where you live ice cream shops aren't super common. It's too cold where i live so we mostly have chains, but in places like california or anywhere down south where it's hot for the majority of the year non chain shops are more common & open year round.

"Asian flavors" (not sure what to call them) are more trendy now so if you're in an place w/ a high Asian population or full of hipsters you might be able to find a shop w/ tea ice creams

it's pretty rare from what ive seen yeah, usually its like small dessert/tea shop kinda places that might have ice cream flavors like that. tho i might b lying cuz i usually find out later that they're very small chains (like ~5 locations but throughout america)

I work at one! Theyre pretty common in the region its in. I think the most out there flavour we have is olive oil. But we also offer lemon/basil, salted pistacchio, tequila with salt and lemon.... the best part is getting to try them first lol
