I can’t wait to see which characters you end up drawing next from the series, there’s so many characters I love from that franchise who would look gorgeous in your art style: Daisy, Toadsworth, all the partners from RPGs. If you ever drew Rosalina the way you draw shiny pokemon I would scream

Hard to say for Yoshi?? xD Like the Yoshi race are pretty sentient. That’s why I went with buddies over pets in the wording, haha. Polterpup is mainly just a dog, but he also shows bits of sentient thoughts from time to time.
True, Polterpup kinda seems too aware to be a full-on dog. Perhaps due to being a ghost, he's been able to learn about humans for a lot longer!
