I used to wear my VMU around my neck on a chain in school. Other girls had Tamagotchis but I never got one...but I had this! And you could plug it into a friend's VMU to do...w-whatever it was you could do...that I totally remember...

sorry for the random late reply, but hooking two VMUs together was for data swapping, like save data for games. VMUs are a concept i wish never ended after the dreamcast honestly, its such a fun thing.

we also had that with the GBA (Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire), DS (certain games) and 3DS

I do agree that gimmick never should have been taken away, hopefully the Switch 2 can bring back what the 3DS once had
