No they didn’t! They set out 40 bills in the Kings speech and clearly gave a plan. They’ve been disrupted & slowed by the riots, the recesses & the gaping hole left in public finances by the tories, but they’re just getting on with it.

Journalists are generally lazy. They feed off each other and follow the herd. The Graun has been RW 'centrist' since the adoration of Blair years. As for the BBC, its news outlet is Tory and has been since Cameron stacked it that way. No one can expect impartiality from LauraK or NRobinson.

Journalists have bought into headlines led by Reuters for years, now they get their stories from SM - Twitter/FB etc. There are no alt voices. When there are, they're cranks, loonies, antisemites. The latter, the Graun now laments, as 'weaponised'. Starmer's bad press was all too predictable.

For a start, minsters should be briefed that when Laura K or whoever asks them a banal question, they reply

"Why is that your agenda? Why do you never ask about bills X, Y & Z. Those actually matter."
