Need housing to do it properly and with sufficient gusto. Shows how botching things when times are good inhibits our ability to act when times are not.

My mum has asked me a few times (she's 92) why we can't build houses for people like we did after the war. Never had a good answer on that for her.

Builder friend noted that lumber will get cheaper here. Problem is that will put millworkers out of work. We should take opportunity to build lots of houses, including in places where ppl are getting laid off (& could work in construction) since even many of those places still have housing shortages

Sending out will cost the US. This, in theory, will raise prices to the US consumer and
in theory, the whole sale consumer will stop buying it, unless they absolutely need that product, and pass the cost to they final buyer who absolutely needs it.
