For no particular reason I'm thinking about Maurice Sendak's plan to suicide-bomb George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, because who would suspect beloved children's writer Maurice Sendak?

Someone named "NJlibertarian" was unequivocally against killing the president? Listen, if they don't want beloved children's book authors to kill presidents, they need to make it economically unfeasible.
it might be different in other countries but there are no actual libertarians (or at best very few) in the US. The "left" party is already a classical liberal party, so when you define your classical liberal party in opposition to that party, you pretty much just have another right wing party.
Yeah almost everyone actually calling themselves one in the US doesn't have any problem with freedom restrictions if they don't apply to them personally. Even if they really would rather vote for No Rules, they can be bribed by being made an exception pretty well.
