Michigan and Huron are hydrologically one body of water so they should call it Hurigan or Micheron but Michigan is entirely in the USA and Huron shares a border with Canada like all the other Great Lakes so it gets politically dicey: Also according to some old treaty Canada can keep a warship here.
Hi Lake Michigan!! You are beautiful! 😍 We took our three kids when they were four, one and one (!) on a pontoon boat on your beautiful waters for the day. It was an amazing and memorable trip!

I'm not certain but I think Superior sometimes enjoys a pint or two at Ore Dock or Blackrocks breweries in Marquette. Been there, done that ... and it's easy to lose verbal skills after a high gravity IPA!
The lake that they said never gives up her dead is Superior because it's so frickin' cold bodies don't decompose and float to the surface. This is Lake Michigan from the Michigan sunset side although this is actually a full moon setting at sunrise :)
Only happens twice a year at the equinox, froze my ass off getting that shot. Once saw the sunrise and moonset from the middle of the lake on a sail boat, no land on either horizon. Froze my ass off then too but it was amazing!
Been through the Rockies several times, most memorably in '67 in my Mom's '65 VW Bug which was in the granny lanes with the trucks on the uphill bits. Route 66 pre Interstate days but we made it to California and back to Chicago :)
