Games and movies and most visual mediums are *expensive* and take a lot of effort, and unless you have a very out-of-the-box, specific idea for a thing they can't just be magicked up with creative smarts 🤷♂️

Anyway, this is all pretty boring stuff. Gimme the deep dive into how much Death Stranding cost and how that project was funded and leave the indies alone to make their baguette rpgs
Or tell me again how James Cameron has *five times* made the most expensive movies ever made, and pulled it off! after starting out by borrowing money from a dentist to make a sci-fi short. (You always have to borrow money from SOMEONE 🤷♂️)
I think people see a success like this and see it as an inspirational, aspirational story. They think “hey, that could be me!” And then, “rich dad, mysterious millions of dollars given, interned as creative director” takes the wind out of their sails. That cannot be them.
Feel like people are memory holeing how many of the great artists of history benefited from patronage from the wealthy (ur mozarts and the like) but beyond that, that there used to be cultural cache for rich people to fund great works! Now its just burning it all down.

If you want to follow in Cameron's footsteps, it's pretty easy. I'm sure this process will work for everybody
