The rediscovery of Bill Fay’s music was no such thing, really: he lived long enough to see the world discover him for the first time. He’s like Scott Walker for me, I can’t choose individual LPs. He was a visionary in the true sense. When you’ve heard all his records, you’ve heard one of them. RIP

Don’t know for sure but I’ve got a feeling that members of Honeybus were drafted in by Peter Eden or Bill’s manager? Honeybus recorded a couple of Bill Fay songs as a result of the same connection IIRC. Or else this is a rehearsal tape for the actual LP session?

That's a rreally great comparison. I don't know Fay's music deeply, but what I've heard really hit my ear as chapel music, however idiosyncratic. 'Be Not So Fearful' is a pilgrim song for every dark night and uncertain day if there ever was one.
