Sometimes I feel that's true. But I do know there're people out there -my colleagues- who spend their waking days creating defensible space to protect from encroaching fires, organizing & teaching people how to come together & effectively coordinate their responses making sure no one is left behind.
Most people don't own a house now, and many would indeed film one burning. And you just wish people understood that no matter the situation, everyone's feet are touching scorched earth.
That’s the dilemma for the world outside America these days: do we just watch it burn down, try to prevent the fire from spreading, or try to help put it out?
