Probably just play some games you have and get used to using it.
If you want something to do in desktop mode I’d get decky loader so you can customize your gaming mode ui and it’s pretty easy to set up.
Also if you like emulating games I’d get emudeck, makes it really easy to set up every emulator.
I tried doing emudeck but it got a little overwhelming, I learned about retrodeck which just installs what you need out of the box and it's really straightforward. I really recommend
Normal ROG ally just isn’t appealing enough or had enough advantages over the Steam deck for me to buy it.
And the Lenovo legion Go, although cool, was way to big for me
Very fair haha, just wanted to see if it would hit the steam deck spidey-sense. I'm actually currently using that exact setup and it's lovely, steamos is great!
SteamOS is great, its what introduced me to Linux to and made me switch mainly to linux on my laptop, I literally just have a windows dual boot for Fortnite lmao
