After 100 days of Donald Trump’s second term, we now know that Trump’s first term, his initial attempt at authoritarian primacy, was amateur hour, a fitful rehearsal, David Remnick writes.

Thanks to Trump's incompetent Trade War, and tarrif tax on struggling Americans. Every factory on earth, except those located in the United States, can get the inputs they need from China without paying an additional 145 percent markup. China is forming better relationships while we rapidly decline.
He tripled down on his rhetoric this time around. He hired an immigrant South African to be his co-prez to do his dirty work including crippling the country. He brought in all his oligarchs to ensure he is lavished with compliments & he rewarded FOX news commentators with high government positions!!
@gtconway.bsky.social All foreseen by those w/some common sense. How after his disastrous, 1st term, big lie, Jan 6 felonious actions could a/o think iw/b better. Joe started w/so many whammies & got us mostly through it. Piece of lint should have won/ Never forgive those who voted for Trump.
"His first Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, was reportedly convinced that Trump was a 'moron,' and both the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley, and the chief of staff, John Kelly, eventually concluded that the Commander-in-Chief was, in a word, a fascist."
& still, re-elected. ugh
It looks like the collapse on everything from economy to being a global leader&Super Power like the small 5th world puppet dictatorships have relying on nazi styled xenophobia, racism and hate speech demonizing their own different ethnicities amateurly to pump up xenophobia relying on SAME ethicity!
Yes, most of us w/a common sense brain knew this. There were warnings every where. But after horrid 1st term, big lie, Jan 6, crimes, others thought he w/b better. Only ran to avoid jail. Then all those who didn't vote? Joe got us through some rough times mostly & yet the ignorants still went Trump.
I can never understand why they can't see that he's always been mentally unstable. I gave ppl pass 1st time b/c they actually believed he was a good businessman due to hype of his reality show. Ppl are so easy to manipulate w/celebs involved. But 2nd time - no forgiveness. They should have known.
I sort of feel that this whole episode (Trump/ Project 2025) was the “Hail Mary Pass” to preserve white racist, misogynistic America. I think in the end it will be viewed as the Pickett’s Charge of our times. They will still cause much misery, but the fact that his regime is so inept gives me hope.
Needs to be impeached. His behavior and "leadership" is intolerable and NEVER would have passed for competency in the past. Why is everyone so afraid to get him out. DO SOMETHING.
Vance is a human windsock. He won’t have MAGA and probably will know pursuing Trump’s path will result in a 1 term presidency (if elections are still a thing…)
He did what he promised on the campaign trail he would do, and what Harris (and many others) warned he would do. And he won the election. There sure is a lot of ineptitude to go around.
Ineptitude? Perhaps from the perspective of right (“correct”)-thinking Americans. Trumpsters might proffer a dramatically different assessment since Trump, through his executive orders, is putting in place his — or, probably more accurately said, the Heritage Foundation’s — vision for America.
Ineptitude, yes... but it's far worse. He's caused job losses to hundreds of thousands, destroyed the families of immigrants w immeasurable suffering & devastation, halted medical & scientific research (incl cancer), destroyed valuable records, destroyed the economy, isolated the US globally...
Trump has the worst POTUS first 100 days.
- inflation (worse)
- measles (spreading fast)
- DOGE (mass layoffs, data breaches)
- agency closures
- tariff wars: global market crashes, mass selling of U.S. assets
- illegal deportations
- America brand plummets
- bullies and loses all U.S. allies
Yes!! DJTrump is sooo disrespectful of the very honorable job WeThePeople have GIVEN him. 🤦🏻♀️ 😫 💔 🫣 Clearly, he and his incompetent clan of appointed officials are only FigureHeads for each of their jobs. None of them are capable of fulfilling the responsibilities bestowed on them. 🎪 🤡 🎢 🤹♂️
I one of the reasons 45 was not as crazy was he had a cabinet which was not crazy. Warped, but not crazy. Now, we have both warped and crazy. In 2016, many of bozo's administration was picked by the Koch-LIbertarians. This time around, it is the techno-fascists (Emo). There are fewer constraints.
One of my scenarios has Old money (Koch-Libertarians) fighting with New money (techno-fascists). I have it going to the techno-fascists. Fascism wins, initially.
Not a big surprise with Chuck and the fossil fuel group, they get a lot of their oil from Canada. Tariffs really hurt in that market.
Trump is completely 𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰 to "we the ppl". We don't occupy too much space between his ears. Power, greed, and his greatness are there.
If he dislikes anybody, MAGA would be his mark. I don't even think he knew much about these type of ppl or that they existed. He took advantage of that.
Remnick hasn’t been paying attention. Trump’s chaos provides cover for Project 2025’s irreparable damage. Trump’s showmanship is a scripted diversion. It’s all an act, to detract what’s left of the MSM. And they never fail to take the bait.
I sure hope not. My parents talked about thst when I was young. My Dad was 1 of 6 boys that were raised by my grandmama. She was a teacher.
My Mom, on the other hand, came from old money. She was a deb. But she was also honest and faithful, and didn't care that we lived on a military salary.
Thats why he has so many sycophants around him. He believes these pansyass ppl are smart. That says a lot about his intelligence. If you ask Mary Trump, she will tell you he's been this stupid since birth.

There was no doubt, no question about Project 2025, his lies, his deception
We knew the moment he re-entered the race what it meant & the descent into authoritarianism
Just couldn’t believe the ignorance in some / people saying ‘well, I need to do some addtl research before deciding who to vote for’…
A blueprint, written in advance, where people said
'he's not really going to do all of that'.
If nothing else, impeachment and conviction shows them there are consequences to 1) breaking the law and 2) not following the will of the people.
He is not mentally sound & can't keep up with the demands of the office of President!
He was so disrespectful by not abiding by the dress code: black suit and tie!
He had to be different blue suit & tie!
He has audacity to criticize Zelensky!

Donald has an MO. And he is trying to deploy it in the office.
It’s an MO that’s antithetical to everything Madison et al designed the govt to do.
In that sense, Donald is unpatriotic.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Trump hates everything about America, and everyone in it.
If he dislikes anybody, MAGA would be his mark. I don't even think he knew much about these type of ppl or that they existed. He took advantage of that.
Usually that's what I get, but sometimes I don't. 🤷🏼♀️

I'm there. I have no more tolerance for his B.S.
He doesn't have the skill level needed for it.
He allies with them because they are shrewd and unethical.
