That said, cost is not always or only measured in dollars. Time, anxiety, energy, enjoyment, ease of access to quality food, etc is also part of the equation as well.

A lot of Boomer assholes who bought a house in 1986 try to equate "if you didn't eat so much take out you'd be able to afford a house" ignoring that the cost of housing has gone up 4x adjusted for inflation but income barely did.
