The uncomfortable part: Liberal centrism failed us time and time again. The extremists are better able to reach them. May be the mediums they use or just because they speak to those that nobody cared before and are struggling. We need to address their concerns and not abandon them to the extremists

Algorithms on TikTok and other social networks prefer extreme points of view which is why content from extremists work better. The young generation gets all their information from TikTok, it basically replaced even Google as search engine for most.

Aside from that (not eastern europe), but Hungary, Slovakia kind of are governed by russian friendly parties and in the Czech Republic they lead in the polls, right? Romania was a narrow miss. So i would not say that it is a sole Western Europe problem :(
