His reserve will be RAF pilot Flight Lt David-John Gibbs from Grantham, Lincolnshire, who is the designated pilot for the Longbow speed record challenge being led by Dave Aldred.

Definitely. Not only is he the most experienced driver of high performance jet boats alive, he’s a living link to the existing record holder who brought the record back to the Commonwealth after Lee Taylor. And I would not be surprised if he’s the record holder himself by the time he drives Bluebird
