Schumer and Gillibrand are abdicating Dems' last point of leverage hoping that Trump/Musk will self-implode and voters will punish the GOP in the midterms.
They fail to grasp that if they don't stop Elon's impoundment crimes now, there likely won't be free and fair elections in 2026.

If the mess of the first two months isn't enough to vote against EVERYTHING from the Republicans, then nothing is.
Dems are in a rock and hard place here, but I think Schumer is taking the wrong path.
Or do you think each came to this awful decision separately?
I can not think of a time when either Ds or Rs have said "We will vote against any funding bill until we get Y" and gotten Y. And that's when POTUSes have acknowledged the shutdown.
I'm fed up wit Chuck "how about those egg prices?" Schumer.
Also, Schumer has got to go.
He is destroying any hope Democrats had that they could use their filibuster leverage to stop Trump/Musk.
This action will dog him for the rest of his life, and justifiably so.
