The cars are at least decent and have some merit (though I could rant against their dangerous minimalist design all day). The cybertruck has no merits whatsoever. It is Elon’s pet project and that man’s incompetence has been fully exposed. A cybertruck owner absolutely can be judged on sight.

To be clear I detest Musk and the worst thing about the Cybertruck in my view is that he said he was doing it to finance the production of a smaller, cheaper EV, the model 2. That was a lie, an outright betrayal. It’s clear he’s lost interest in Tesla overall now.

I don’t think there’s anything dangerous about my model Y, one of the reasons I bought it was for its NCAP ratings both for passengers and pedestrians. I feel I have so much more control of it than any other car I’ve had. No messing with gears. One pedal driving.

The danger is the lack of physical buttons for important functionality. Having to use a touchscreen to control important functionality requires the driver to look away from the road to hit any buttons. Physical buttons can be done by feel, don’t change location, and don’t require submenus.

I’ve been driving one for just over a year. Never had a problem finding any functions whilst driving. Controls are very intuitive and you don’t need to go into sub menus. I also use voice commands which is even easier than buttons.

I have a 2023 Chevy Bolt. The one thing that I don’t like about it is that they moved the ability to control which vents are used for AC to a submenu on the touchscreen. To be safe, I almost never adjust this.

Then they should have given you the ability to use voice commands if you can’t find something, like you can in a Tesla. Honestly, I’ve never been a particularly confident driver but the model Y has been a game changer for me.

I just don’t think that’s fair. I don’t know what sort of person would want to own one; all I know is that Americans love trucks and getting them to buy into EVs at all is a hard sell so it prob had to be something ‘out there’ like this
