One of the reasons I'm not sold on nuclear is bcuz ownership will probably eventually fall into the hands of the same ppl who control our energy (& our lives) now.
Govt may build it but at some point it'll be sold off, which is what history tells us is likely

There are a lot of ways to store electrical energy as potential energy that we havenβt explored yet.
Iβm mostly against it because Dutton has no intention of building a nuclear industry. Heβs just delaying the inevitable transition to renewables for as long as he can to help his generous fossil fuel benefactors.
Just on that point, to guarantee any nuclear power plants aren't built by taxpayers then sold off a few yrs down the track, it would take a Referendum/Constitutional change
Normal legislation can just be changed
No one has mentioned Referendum & nuclear together

We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create new, decentralised competitive energy market thru renewables
Where 100s of Aussie families can build businesses & benefit, farmers creating income streams, jobs created all over rural/regional Oz not just 7 sites

There seems to be a fight for the energy market, give it to the ppl not the rich
Renewables help balance inequality, nuclear helps entrench it
A diverse, competitive market= better products/services/price 4 consumers
Centralised w/ a few stakeholders costs more

Nothing about it makes economic sense.
IMHO if we can see the actual costs, timeframes, Budget measures, etc then it'll be easier to make an informed decision
No one can make an informed decision without facts

Ain't no way we could do it quicker and cheaper than anyone else.
Seems a no brainer to me.

He had no idea on costing
We need numbers- a business case, timeframes, KPIs, Budget measures
All ideas must be given the same chance to succeed, but they must come with details so that voters can make informed decisions

Humans are naturally resistant to change & there's been so much change to cope with, it's a lot to deal with
